Delicious dinner! We got the pork belly bao buns, duck curry with rice and drunken noodles. I would order all these again. The drunken noodles had a wonderful flavor. The veggies inside were crunchy. The duck curry was fantastic and cooked perfectly. It comes with a side of rice. I split these with another person and wasn't super full, so portin sizes were medium.

Overall: Doi Moi is modern take on Vietnamese cuisine with lots of familiar ingredients, dishes, with a vibrant and fun atmosphere that makes it wonderfully unique. Perfect place for cocktails with friends or a full on meal. For as good as the cocktails were, the food and atmosphere were also excellent. It's a place you go without feeling there are any obvious compromises. Food: GREAT: Curry Ratatouille: best thing we had was this. It's a hug in a bowl with a side of white rice. Such a comforting and cozy dish. It's also vegetarian. Very Good: Wings. These were fried but crispy and sweet, tangy, and big. Better than most wings I've had in dc. Good: Pho. It's pho. No doubt about it. If you are in the mood to get pho, I'd probably just go somewhere specialized in that. If you want a nice date vibe, pre game vibe, party vibe, with a bowl of soup, go here. PASS: Summer Roles. Nothing special. Sub par. Don't need these again. Cocktails: the cocktails we had were excellent. Well mixed, they made substitutes, etc. I wish I saw more unique bottles on the menu versus just Bacardi (: Atmosphere: the best part of this place is the atmosphere. It's unique to dc. As in no garbage hot 99.5 music, no bro-y dudes, no sticky floors. A fun, vibrant, eccentric basement where you can definitely party away and have a banh mi. It's a fun combo. Service: really good. Our waiter was the man. He was a really good sport for having an 8 person table. Made all the weird asks around splitting bills. Feedback: don't come here if you want a quiet meal, or if you want personal space. Probably not a place for a first date because it can get loud. Again, a good starting point for the night.

I must say the food there is amazing. They have a variety to choose from. The service there is great. I must say what made it an amazing experience was the presence of David. His character is what amazed me. I'm not someone easily amazed but I must say I was happy he added to the atatmosphere of my experience when I dined in. I will be coming back. I'll let my friends/family know to come. ( they love Vietnamese food as much as I do) :-)
